Externed offender planning crime arrested in Wadi, Nagpur

Nagpur: Acting on a reliable tip-off, a team from Crime Branch Unit 1 arrested an externed offender in the Wadi Police Station limits on Thursday morning after he was found illegally present within prohibited city jurisdiction.

The action took place around 9:15 am on November 28, 2025, when the Crime Branch team was patrolling and received information that Vijay alias Golu Dilip More (37), a history-sheeter and externed accused, was present at his residence in Ambedkar Nagar, Control Wadi, Nagpur, in violation of legal restrictions.

Police immediately reached the location and spotted the suspect. He was intercepted, surrounded in the presence of panch witnesses, and taken into custody. On verification, it was confirmed that More had been externed from Nagpur city and rural limits for two years under externment order No. 12/2024 dated November 28, 2024, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1.

Despite the active externment order, More had returned to the area without permission, allegedly with the intention of committing an offence, thereby violating the prohibitory order. Based on this, an FIR was registered at Wadi Police Station under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act, and the accused was formally arrested. He has been handed over to Wadi Police for further legal proceedings, and investigation is ongoing.

The action was carried out under the supervision of Vasant Pardeshi, Additional CP (Crime), Rahul Makanikar, DCP (Detection), and Abhijit Patil, ACP (Crime). The police team involved included PI Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar, API Rajabhau Jadhav, HC Yogesh Vasanik, PC Ajtam Shaikh, and PC Ravindra Raut.

Police officials said they are continuing an intensified drive against wanted and externed criminals across the city.
