
Nagpur: As part of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal’s initiative to crack down on human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, the Nagpur City Police continued their ongoing drive ‘Operation Shakti’ with a major action on November 24, 2025.
Between 4:40 pm and 11:20 pm, the Crime Branch’s Social Security Department and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit were patrolling when they received specific information about prostitution activities being carried out at a spa in Ajni police station limits. Acting swiftly, the team raided Exotic Spa & Salon, located at Classic Amber Apartment near Medical College on Ajni Road.
During the raid, police found two women allegedly running a prostitution racket for monetary gain by providing space to customers and forcing victims into the flesh trade. The accused have been identified as: Pratim Ramesh Badge (42), resident of Yogeshwar Nagar, near Dighori Crematorium, Nagpur, and Kiran Dayalu Uke (36), resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Chandramani Chowk, Dattawadi, Nagpur.
Police rescued one victim girl from the premises. From the accused, officers seized Rs 2,500 in cash, two mobile phones, and other material, collectively valued at approximately Rs 27,230.
A case has been registered at Ajni Police Station under Sections 143(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA). The arrested women and the seized items have been handed over to Ajni Police for further investigation and legal action.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner of Police Naveenchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Paradeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknnikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil.
The raid team included PI Rahul Shire, API Shivaji Nannavare, police personnel Laxman Chaure, Kishor Thakre, Nitin Vasne, Kamlesh Kshirsagar, and Women Constables Lata Gavai and Aarti Chavan.
