Nagpur: A major fire broke out at Rahi Traders, a hardware shop located in Kalmegh Nagar under the MIDC area of Nagpur, on Sunday night around 8 PM. The blaze gutted paint cans, plastic materials, and other hardware items stored inside the shop, resulting in losses worth several lakhs of rupees.
According to reports, the shop, owned by Vinod Raut, had been closed for the day around 7 PM when nearby shopkeepers noticed smoke emerging from it about an hour later. They immediately alerted the shop owner and the MIDC Fire Department.
Upon receiving the information, four fire tenders from MIDC, Digdoha Nagar Parishad, and Nildoha Nagar Panchayat rushed to the spot. Firefighters battled the flames for nearly two hours before bringing the situation under control.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The MIDC Police have conducted a panchnama at the scene and initiated an investigation.
