Nagpur: An incident of a 55-year-old man being killed by two drunkard men and throwing his body into a well following a dispute over liquor money came to light at Mokshadham Square in Imamwada Police Station limits. As soon as the police got the information about this on Sunday, the police arrested both the accused within 24 hours.
The deceased has been identified as Ramsingh Thakur (55). He was working as a mason. The accused were identified as Raju Burande and Mukesh Ambhore. Both are construction workers, police said
According to police, the accused used to consume alcohol. A quarrel took place between the accused and Ramsingh on Saturday morning. Raju and Mukesh consumed liquor Saturday night and went to the house of Ramsingh. They picked a quarrel with Ramsingh and hit a wooden rod on his head. Sustaining grievous injuries, Ramsingh died on the spot due to heavy blood loss. The accused killers fled the spot.
The incident came to the fore on Sunday morning. Staff of Imambada police led by Sr PI Rajkamal Waghmare inspected the crime spot and sent the body for post-mortem. A case under Sections 302 and 34 of Indian Penal Code was registered by the police. The police launched a manhunt and reportedly arrested the two accused.
