Nagpur: The third wave of Covid-19, it seems, is at the doorstep of Nagpur as a surge in single-day cases was recorded on Tuesday. Total 44 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the district. Of the 44 cases, 7 positive persons are not the residents of Nagpur district. Three cases of Covid-19 were reported in Nagpur rural while the city witnessed 34 cases in one single day.
Most doctors have predicted that the rise in Covid-19 cases could be an indication of a third wave.

According to Dr P P Joshi, Professor and Head, Department of Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, Omicron is not that dangerous but Delta is a risk for life. To add to the woes of the public, a Delmicron variant has entered which is more dangerous, warned Dr Joshi.
On the 45th day, no patient died of Covid-19 in the district. The daily testing count in Nagpur district has gone up as the district reported 3,986 total testing.
Nagpur rural has reported a drastic rise in testing almost 10 times. On Monday the rural had reported 182 testing while on Tuesday the testing count was 1,176.. City’s testing count too has increased to 2,810. With these the cumulative testing reached to 42,16,623.
