Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Saoner police on Saturday arrested two persons in the WCL labour leader Chirkut Mouje murder case. Mouje was brutally murdered on Friday (May 8) in Patansaongi. The arrested accused have been identified as Dilip Ratanlal Madne (45) and Firoze Tajuddin Sheikh (45). It is surmised that the labour leader was done to death over property dispute. A feud was running between the two accused and Chirkut Mouje since long. In this context, complaints were lodged with various departments against each other following the property dispute. A complaint was also registered with Western Coalfields Limited authorities and a probe by concerned department was underway. But before any tangible substance could be revealed, the labour leader Mouje was murdered. Saoner cops have arrested the two accused in this connection.
According to sources, now the police are scanning the past record of the accused Dilip Madne and Firoze Tajuddin Sheikh. On Friday around 7 pm, the union leader Chirkut Govindrao Mouje (55), resident of Mankapur, was passing through Patansaongi-based Satyam Beer Bar. At the same time, the two accused and their one accomplice came on a motorcycle and attacked him with knives. The seriously injured Mouje was rushed to GMCH in Nagpur where doctors after preliminary treatment pronounced him dead. Mouje used to visit his Rajhans Lawn in Patansaongi almost daily. On Fridayalso he reached there and after spending some time was going towards his under-construction godown some distance away walking. Midway, Mouje was attacked and murdered by the accused.
The deceased Mouje had established Coal Mines Workers’ Credi Coop Society in Patansaongi 15 years ago and was President for some period. A few years back, Mouje had constructed Rajhans Lawn at Waki turning in Patansaongi. Opposite the lawn, a commercial complex was also constructed. However, a dispute was running with the accused scrap dealer Firoze Khan over the land of the commercial complex.
