9330 ha land acquisitioned for Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway so far: Minister

Nagpur: On the last day of first week of the Winter Session, the Opposition Leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and a number of other members raised the issue of Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Marg.

In written reply, the Public Works (Public Undertaking) Minister Eknath Shinde said that so far 9330.04 hectares of land has been acquisitioned in different districts for the ambitious project. Rs 1631.82 crore have been paid as compensation. For the land acquisition, an expenditure of Rs 10,000 crore is expected. The MSRDC has been directed to extend loans to MIDC, SIDCO, SRA, MHADA, and Mumbai Metro Region Development Corporation for the purpose. The MSRDC has till November 2017 received Rs 2400 crore as loan. For construction of the Samruddhi Marg (Expressway), a bilateral agreement has been done with South Korea. The total expenditure for the project is expected to be around Rs 46,000 crore. The share of MSRDC will be Rs 11,000 and the rest Rs 35,000 crore will be procured through loans.

BJP’s Hingna MLA raised the issue of poor work of repairs of Kelvad-Saoner-Bazargaon-Yerangaon Road.

In his written reply, the Public Works Minister Chandrakantdada Patil said that the work of strengthening of Bazargaon-Yerangaon stretch (5 km) of the said road is nearing completion. The rest of the work is progressing. The heavy vehicles of the contractor who is carrying out repair work of nearby National Highway have damaged the said road. The contractor at his expense has done the necessary repair work. The concerned Chief Engineer is investigating the entire work and his report is awaited.
