69th I-Day celebration at Nagpur Central Railway Divn

Nagpur: The 69th Independence Day celebration was held at Central Railway Nagpur Division’s DRM office premises on Aug 15, and the National Flag was unfurled by DRM O P Singh.
Prominently present on the occasion were Adl DRM Dr Jaideep Gupta, Central Railway Women’s Welfare Wing Chairperson Sangeeta Singh, vice chairperson Monika Gupta, all members of Mahila Samaj Sewa Samiti, officers and employees of the division.

Remarkable event of the occasion was woman-members leading all platoons in parade, for the first time, under the guidance of senior security commissioner, RPF, Jyotikumar Satija. All present during flag hoisting ceremony saluted the National Flag at the tune of National Song played by RPF Band.

To mark the celebration, DRM O P Singh read out the Independence Day message of CR General Manager Sunil Kumar Sud to all rail officers and employees.2

CR GM Sud in his message sent his hearty greetings of I-Day to all officers, employees and their families as well as customers of Central Railway. His message read, as, “The work of first four months in current fiscal year of CR has been better than that in the previous year. A unique and ultramodern arrangement has been made for cleanliness of trains, and SMS as well as website service has been introduced to fulfill the demands of passengers of running trains so that the passengers will be able to order for any service from house keeper.” GM also greeted all trade union-leaders and their families and urged them to always cooperate with rail administration. He repeated his praise for the rail officials for their courage, team-work, enthusiasm and talent in executing their duties.
DRM, O P Singh also greeted the railway personnel and said in his address that constant efforts were being put in to complete the proposed rail traffic works towards enhancement of amenities to the passengers. According to him, Magardoh station has been opened for passengers’ travel, second class waiting hall has been renovated at Katol station, UTS and PRS facilities have been provided at Morshi and Varud stations, automatic ticket vending machine (2 each) have been installed at Wardha, Sewagram, Betul and Dhamangaon stations.

Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed to check black marketing of reservation, 13 pairs of trains have been launched since July 2015–in all 148 services including 3 summer special trains from Nagpur station, and several remarkable achievements made by railways, like, file trecking system in DRM office and e-pass module, etc.
He specially urged the recognized unions and other associations to act in coordination with railway administration and extend constructive guidance and support. He expressed hope that the Rail Pariwar shall do its best to satisfy the rail consumers and win their heart.

The Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organization paid a visit to CR Hospital, Nagpur and distributed fruits to the admitted patients. Chairperson Sangeeta Singh, Monika Gupta and others played leading role in this regard.
I-Day celebration was also held in other departments and depots of the division, informed PRO CR, Nagpur.
