Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Squad has seized 58 grams of MD (Mephedrone) in Yashodhara Nagar and arrested a history-sheeter in connection with the alleged drug trafficking case. Six other accused have been named as wanted in the case.
According to police, the action was carried out on the night of September 24 after police constable Imran Sheikh received confidential information about the alleged sale and transportation of MD drugs in the area.

Acting on the information, a police team reached the internal road in front of Building No. P/01 at the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana area in Sangharsh Nagar. The suspect was searched in the presence of two panch witnesses.
During the search, police allegedly recovered around 58 grams of MD powder, valued at approximately ₹1.75 lakh. Two mobile phones and a Scorpio vehicle were also seized during the operation. Police have estimated the total value of the seized property at more than ₹10 lakh.
The arrested accused has been identified as 40-year-old Ijajuddin Siddiqui, a resident of Hamid Nagar. Police said Siddiqui has 22 serious criminal cases registered against him at various police stations under the Nagpur Police Commissionerate.
Six other accused have been named as wanted in the case. They have been identified as Aamir Mukeem Malik, Karim Mukeem Malik, Shibu Malik, Kaif Malik, Sagir Mohammad Latif Ansari and Osama.
Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police are now searching for the wanted accused and investigating the source of the MD consignment and the suspected network involved in its supply.
