50-year-old woman killed in road mishap

: In another ghastly accident, a 50 year-old woman who was crossing the road near Mor-Bhavan Bus Stop came under the rear wheel of the State Transport Bus which was going inside the Mor Bhavan Bus Stand and was killed on the spot in the afternoon of April 25, 2016.

The State Transport Bus bearing RTO Registration No. MH-40/ N-8718 was driven by Driver identified as Nandkishore Dabir aged 48 years and a resident of Gopal Nagar.

Some on-lookers claimed that the deceased was rushing to cross the road near the entrance of Mor Bhavan Bus Stand. However, at that very moment, Nandkishore Dabir drove the State Transport Bus inside the Mor Bhavan Bus Stand. He had to move the bus inside the bus stand soon since it may clog the road and cause inconvenience to other road users. Unfortunately, the deceased came under the rear wheels of the ST bus and the bus ran over the stomach of the deceased killing her on the spot.

According to sources, the deceased lady is identified as Leelabai Lucky Kurmi aged 50 years and a resident of Indira Mata Nagar, MIDC, Nagpur.Immediately after the accident, the area near Rain Jhansi Square to Mor Bhavan became tense.

After completing the panchanama, the body of the deceased was dispatched to Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

However the cops of Sitabuldi Police rushed to the spot and under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police N D Ingole and In-Charge of Sitabuldi Police Station Senior Police Inspector Satyaveer Bandiwar, the cops seized the State Transport Bus and arrested the driver bringing normalcy to the area.
