5 accused in school teacher gangrape case arrested

DSC_0014 (2)Nagpur:  The Crime Branch have arrested 5 accused in the spine-chilling gang-rape of a 21-year-old school teacher. The police nabbed the accused on Tuesday after weeks of investigation in the case and produced them before the court. The court has remanded the accused to police custody till December 30.

The accused are identified as Mohammed Afroz Ziyauddin Pathan (34), Sudarshan alias Sanju Gajanan (37), Anil Raju Ingle (35), Pundlik Bhoyar (34) and Ashwin Danore (23).

On December 1, a 21-year-old teacher and her boyfriend were passing through Kapsi flyover in Kalamna area around 8 pm. At the same time, the five accused, posed as policemen intercepted them. The accused forced both of them inside their vehicles separately and took them away.

At a secluded place midway, the five accused dropped her boyfriend and forcibly took the victim at a deserted location and gangraped her at knife-point. After the savage crime, the accused threatened to kill the girl if she narrates the incident to the cops. The victim, though devastated, gathered courage and lodged a complaint with Kalamna police.

The case was reported by all major media networks in the city and was condemned by all sections of society.
