4 youngsters planning dacoity nabbed in Shantinagar

Nagpur: In a wee hour action, Shantinagar police nabbed a gang of four youngsters who were planning a dacoity in the area. The fifth member of the gang managed to escape and is being searched.

Police received inputs that five suspicious persons had assembled near Jain Mandir, Tulsi Nagar Garden, Shantinagar, around 2.30 am of Tuesday. Acting swiftly, a team of cops reached the spot and detained four members of the gang. Upon frisking, the police team recovered a knife, nylon rope, chilli powder, and other material to be used in dacoity. The detained accused have been identified as Shubham Suresh Shirudkar (19), resident of Itabhatti Square, Karan Prakash Jadhav (19), Pratik Tejbhan Tiwari (24), both residents of Premnagar, Nayapura, and Atul Ashoksingh Chauhan (19) of Gondpura, Basarwadi. The absconding fifth member has not been identified.

Shantinagar PSI Wagh has booked the accused under Section 399 of the IPC read with Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and placed them under arrest.
