4 shops in MIDC, Wadi targeted, goods worth lakhs burgled

Nagpur: A gang of miscreants on Holi day struck at four shops in MIDC and Wadi areas and decamped with goods including mobile handsets, electronics and other valuables worth lakhs.

In the first incident, Balaji Nagar-based Trupti Enterprises of Pravin Mundhada, resident of Lokmanya Nagar, was targeted. The burglars laid their hands on mobile handsets of different brands worth Rs 2 lakh. At the same time, the miscreants gained entry into an adjoining shop run by Ajit Choudhary (30) by bending shutters. From this shop also mobile handsets of various brands worth Rs lakh were stolen. The thefts took place in MIDC police jurisdiction.

Another shop Balaji Electronics in Tawakkal Layout, Wadi, run by Sanjay Singh Rathod, was struck by four car-borne goons, The goons smashed shutters of the shop and burgled electronics goods worth Rs 5.35 lakh. An adjoining mobile shop Harsh Mobiles of Ravi Jaisinghani was also targeted by the ruffians. Cell phones, accessories and cash of Rs 40,000 were stolen. The collective loss suffered by Ravi stood at Rs 5.39 lakh.

MIDC and Wadi police booked the unidentified burglars and launched a search to nab them.
