nagpur-university-job-scamNagpur: Sitabuldi police have booked four persons, including two sisters, on the charges of duping a job-seeking man and his relatives to the tune of Rs 43 lakh.

The complainant, Anil Vishnu Pujare (30), resident of Gurnule Layout, Narkhed Rural, told police that his colleague in the school, Purshottam Burade, informed him that there are vacancies of junior clerk posts in Amravati Zilla Parishad and that a woman and her associates could secure the jobs of junior clerks for Anil, his relatives and also friends. With the job prospects in their minds, Anil Pujare, his relatives and a friend approached the four accused Chandrakala Kailashgiri Puri, Rani Kailashgiri Puri, both natives of Urja Colony, Paratwada Road, Amravati, Ajay Khobarkar of Kondhali and Narendra Pundkar of Dastur Nagar, Amravati.

The four accused, in connivance with each other, promised to provide jobs of junior clerk in Amravati ZP to Anil Pujare, his relatives and friend and in return took a total of Rs 43 lakh from them. The deal took place near Variety Square in the city. After usurping the huge money, the four accused handed over bogus appointment letters to them. However, the cheating came to light when Anil Pujare and others reportedly went to Amravati ZP with the appointment letters but were told by authorities that the letters were bogus. The duped Anil Pujare registered a case with Sitabuldi police as the entire dubious deal had taken place near Variety Square in city between April 2014 and March 2016.

API Chopde has booked the four accused under Sections 420, 465, 467, 471, 120 of IPC and launched a thorough probe into the case.
