Nagpur: In what could be termed a hit-and-run incident, four persons were injured seriously when the car they were travelling in was rammed by a speeding trailer truck at Khapri Flyover on Thursday night. The driver of the trailer truck fled the spot along with his vehicle fearing angry backlash from nearby people.
According to details, Vinod Yadavrao Valdhare (31), resident of Brahmakumari Vishwa Vidyalaya, Vasant Nagar, near Deekshabhoomi, along with Sudhir Rathod, Mangal and Ravi, was travelling in a Maruti Omni car (MH-20/9713) on Thursday. They were coming to Nagpur from Jamtha. Around 7 pm, when they reached on Khapri Flyover, the recklessly driven trailer truck hit their car with forceful impact. The dash left Vinod, Sudhir, Mangal and Ravi seriously injured. Cops from Sonegaon Police Station reached the spot and rushed the four injured to nearby Arogyam Hospital, Somalwada.
It is learnt that the truck also hit a moped injuring the rider.
Sonegaon WPSI R D Nafte has booked the unidentified driver of the trailer truck under Sections 279, 337, 338 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177of Motor Vehicles Act and is searching for him.
