3rd conference of Union Bank Workers’ Union a total success

Nagpur News: The 3^rd Conference of Union Bank Workers’ Union was held on 13^th April, 2014 at Nagpur. Delegates from all branches of Union Bank from Vidarbha participated in the Conference.

The Conference was inaugurated by Com. N. Shankar, General Secretary of All India Union Bank Employees’ Association and Workmen Director on the Board of Union Bank of India. S. M. Nerkar, Deputy General Manager, Union Bank of India was the Chief Guest. Com. B. N. J. Sharma, General Secretary of EMBEA and Com. M. K. Mundul, former General Secretary of AIUBEA were the guests of honour.

Com. N. Shankar while inaugurating the conference, dealt in detail with present situation in the Banking Industry and the intricacies of the negotiations of 10^th Bipartite wage revision. He called upon the gathering to actively involve in the progress of the Bank. He also gave a detailed reporting on the achievements of the union in resolving the issues and fulfilling the aspirations of the members.

S. M. Nerkar, DGM appreciated the role of the majority union All India Union Bank Employees’ Association in growth and development of the Bank and urged upon the employees to work together with the management to take the Bank to further heights.

Com. B. N. J. Sharma, General Secretary EMBEA while briefing on the prevailing political situation, called upon the members to develop a political consciousness and get ready for further actions to realize the justified demands and also to work for the emancipation of the common man. He also praised the role of Union Bank Workers’ Union under the leadership of Com. Milind Wasnik for their active participation in all the calls of the union in Eastern Maharashtra.

Com. M. K. Mundul the veteran leader of AIUBEA stressed the need for involving the younger generation comrades who are joining the banks in large numbers and to properly train them to take the responsibility on their shoulders in the days to come.

Com. Ramkumar Gupta, President EMBEA also greeted the participant and wished the conference all the success. Com. Jaiwant Gurway, Deputy General Secretary, EMBEA and other prominent office bearers of EMBEA actively participated in the conference.

In the delegate session, Com. Milind Wasnik, General Secretary presented the report on the activities of the union since last conference. After deliberations, the General Secretary report was unanimously passed by the house. After approving the statement of accounts and other issues outlined in the agenda, the conference unanimously elected the following team of office bearers to head the Union Bank Workers’ Union for the ensuing term.

The conference ended with a firm resolve to further strengthen Union Bank Workers’ Union by enrolling more and more members and take AIBEA to greater heights.
