3 teenagers fire bullets on two friends over old dispute in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur: Tension ran high in Yashodhara Nagar area when three teenagers fired bullets on two friends with the intention of killing them over a running dispute. The shooting incident took place on Wednesday (June 1) night. The accused teenagers have been booked on the charges of attempt to murder and possessing gun.

The trouble started when the two friends Raja Ashok Pathak (20), resident of Gosavi Mohalla, Rani Durgawati Chowk and Shahbaz had a tiff with the accused Annu Thakur (19), Ritik Pandey (19), both residents of Vinoba Bhave Nagar and their one unidentified accomplice over sharing of “kharra” on May 29. Again on May 31, the two friends and the accused had a fight over breaking of glasses of a vehicle. The running dispute took the worse turn on June 1 around 11 pm when the three teenage accused accosted the two friends in Vinoba Bhave Nagar and fired bullets on them from a gun with the intention of killing them. However, it could not be ascertained whether the bullets hit the two friends or injured them as the press release issued by police did not say anything.

Yashodhara PSI, based on a complaint of Raja Pathak, has booked the accused under Sections 307, 34 of IPC read with Sections 3, 25, 27 of Arms Act and investigating the matter further.
