Nagpur: Three members of a family were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a tipper truck at Pachgaon Turning coming under Kuhi police jurisdiction on Monday morning. The driver of the killer tipper truck has been arrested.
The deceased have been identified as Sushil Javde (30) and his parents Vasant Javde (61) and Pushpa Javde (60). Native of Paoni in Bhandara district, the Javde family was coming to Nagpur in their car. According to police, the ghastly mishap took place around 6 am on Monday near Pachgaon Turning. The tipper truck was going towards Bhandara. As the tipper neared Pachgaon turning, it collided with the car of Javdes with forceful impact. As a result, Sushil, Vasant and Pushpa suffered critical injuries. While Sushil died on the spot, Vasant and Pushpa succumbed to injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital during treatment.
On being informed about the accident, Kuhi PI Jagdish Gaekwad along with other staff rushed to the spot. The cops had to pull out body of Sushil who was trapped in the mangled remains of the car. Vasant and Pushpa were alive and were rushed to the GMCH where they died while undergoing treatment. The mishap resulted in traffic jam from both the directions. Cops had a tough time in clearing the road and resume the traffic.
The driver of the tipper truck, who has not been identified, was booked under relevant sections of IPC and placed under arrest. Further probe is underway.
