Nagpur:
Three minor girls who were reported to be kidnapped from Sonegaon area on June 23 returned their homes on Monday (June 26) much to the relief of their parents. The sight of the three minor girls reaching home by an auto at 9 in the morning left the parents in tears. Sonegaon police were informed about the safe return of the girls.

According to police, the three girls told them that they had left homes on their own and travelled by train to Solapur, Pune, Daund and returned to Nagpur. No girl stepped out of the railway station during their travel. Money had got exhausted. Some passengers in the train made enquiries with them and advised them to return to Nagpur for the better. One of the girls said that she left the home to escape scolding and beating by her mother over study and other domestic issues.

The 13-year old girl and her two friends, both minors, went missing around 10.30 am on Friday, June 23. Parents of the girls searched them frantically at all possible places but without success. The mother of the 13-year old girl suspected that her daughter and two other girls could have been lured and abducted by unidentified person(s). A missing complaint was registered with Sonegaon police.

Sonegaon PSI Rathod, as per the directives of Supreme Court that if a minor girl or boy goes missing then the case be treated as kidnapping, had registered an offence under Section 363 of the IPC and mounted a massive search to trace the three minor girls.

The DCP Zone 1 Smartna Patil had informed that the three girls left homes on their own. A police squad had visited Railway Station, Bus Stand and at other places to trace the girls. The CCTV cameras at Railway Station reportedly captured the girls at a ticket counter. However, the destination of the girls was not known.
