3 impostors appearing as dummy candidates in State Board exams arrested in Jaripatka

Nagpur: Jaripatka police have arrested three miscreants for impersonation and cheating Maharashtra State Secondary and High Secondary Education Board by appearing in Class 10 and 12 in the ongoing Board exams as dummy candidates.

The accused have been identified as Atul alias Guddu Shivmohan Awasthi (35), residing near Kapil Nagar Municipal School, Chandrakant alias Chandu Neelkanth Mate (36), resident of Flat No. 206, Faras Square, Mankapur, and Aman Mukesh Motghare (19), resident of Plot No. 678, Indora Maya Nagar, Jaripatka.

According to police, the three accused, in their bid to cheat the State Board, pasted their photographs on the identity cards of other students and appearted for Class 10 and 12 exams at a centre. The accused also collected the original answer papers from others and submitted forged answer papers at the exam centre. Thus the accused tried to dupe the State Board. However, the alert officials exposed cheating attempt of the accused.

Jaripatka PSI R V Ambhore, based on a complaint lodged by police constable Bandu Sudam Kalambe, booked the three accused under Sections 420, 468, 471, 34 of the IPC read with Sections 6, 7 of Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and Other Specified Examinations Act, 1982 and placed them under arrest. Further probe is underway.
