3 goons demand Rs 1.50 lakh from Wockhardt doctor, threaten to kill him, family

Wockhardt-HospitalNagpur: Three criminals, including an unidentified caller, rang up a Cardiologist of Wockhardt Hospital and threatened to kill him, his wife and sons if extortion money of Rs 1.50 lakh was not given to them. Cops have booked the three accused and launched a manhunt. However, the reason behind the three accused demanding extortion money from the Wockhardt doctor and doling out threats could not be ascertained immediately.

The Cardiologist Nitish Dineshchandra Tiwari (42), resident of Plot No. 18, Manish Nagar and working at Wockhardt Hospital in city, received a call around 12.47 pm on Tuesday (June 28) from an unidentified caller holding mobile number 9503173010 and his two accomplices named Amit Kishore Khobragade (27) and Narendra Natthuji Moon (18), both residents of New Kailash Nagar. The accused trio demanded Rs 1.50 lakh extortion from Dr Nitish Tiwari and also threatened to kill him, wife and sons if their demand was not met. Stunned by the extortion demand and the life threats, the Cardiologist approached Ambazari Police and registered a case in this connection.

PSI Kaluse, acting on the complaint, booked the three accused under Sections 387, 507 of IPC and mounted a hunt to nab them.

Unconfirmed reports say that out of the three accused, Amit Kishore Khobragade and Narendra Natthuji Moon were arrested and the unidentified caller is still at large.
