3 con persons cheat job seekers of Rs 3.40 lakh by promising them jobs in Forest Deptt

Nagpur: Three con persons including a woman cheated many job seekers to the tune of Rs 3.40 lakh by promising them jobs in State Government’s Forest Department. The accused trio handed over bogus appointment letters with fake seal and signature to the victims.

The accused have been identified as Vinod Motiram Mohad (48), resident of Gopal Nagar, Jasmita Hitesh Kotangale (35), resident of Gulmohar Apartment, Teka Naka, and Anil Madhav Sarve (45) of Karandi, district Bhandara.

Between October 26, 2016 and December 2015, the three accused approached the complainant Brijesh Hemraj Khobragade (28), resident of Bela, Bhandara and other educated unemployed youths and promised them to provide jobs in State Government’s Forest Department. In return, the accused took total Rs 3.40 lakh from the job seekers. Later, the accused handed over bogus appointment letters with fake seal and signature to the victims for the posts of Forest Guards. Since the appointment letters were bogus, the complainant Brijesh Khobragade and others did not get jobs in the Forest Department and thus were cheated by the accused.

Tehsil PSI Fartale has registered a case under Sections 420, 406, 467, 468, 471, 472, 475, 34 of the IPC against the accused trio. Further probe is underway.
