247 people died in Nagpur district by Tuberculosis in year 2013

2 people die in every 3 minutes in India because of tuberculosis decease. 5,128 patients found positive in one year in the country.

Nagpur Today: The death rate of tuberculosis in India is very upsetting. In Nagpur district only, including city and rural areas, around 5 thousand 128 tuberculosis patients were found during the period of January, 1, 2013 to December, 31, 2013 from which 247 Patients died because of this serious decease. This shows the Failure to obtain control over tuberculosis.

According to the District TB Officer Dr. Cahande, 1 thousand people die because of tuberculosis in India everyday. One third of the world’s population is infected with tuberculosis. 40 percent population of the country is infected with tuberculosis complications. Risk of tuberculosis in HIV infected patients is 60 percent were as it is 10 percent in the general public. 2 lac 50 thousand patients in India are HIV infected. Almost 20 million people in India are suffering from both HIV and tuberculosis together. The people of all ages can suffer from tuberculosis. However the risk in adults is more than youngsters. It appears that standard of living, congested lifestyle, malnutrition increase the risk of tuberculosis.

Types of Tuberculosis:

Tuberculosis (TB) is divided into two categories that is Pulmonary and extrapulmonary. Primary Tuberculosis Pneumonia, Tuberculosis Pleurisy, Cavitary TB, Miliary TB,Laryngeal TB comes under Pulmonary and Lymph nodes decease, Tuberculosis  Peritonitis, Tuberculosis  Pericarditis,  Osteal Tuberculosis, Renal Tuberculosis and Adrenal Tuberculosis comes under extrapulmonary tuberculosis.

Symptoms of tuberculosis:

Two weeks longer cough, fever, Anorexia, Weight loss, blood while cough are the main Symptoms of tuberculosis

Number of patients in Nagpur during 1st January to 31st December 2013:

Total patients of Tuberculosis in Nagpur City in year 2013 were 2793 in which 1671are Male patient, 1108 are Female and 14 are children who are suffering from Tuberculosis decease. On the other hand Total patients of Tuberculosis in Nagpur Rural in year 2013 were 1271(new patients) and 1064 (old patients) in which 888 are male patient and 383 are female patients who are suffering from Tuberculosis decease.

The diagnosis, treatment:

Proper care of the children under the age of six is important. This year on the world Tuberculosis Day the  World Health Organization have taken the oath to reach every Tuberculosis  patient and given the slogan that proper diagnosis, treatment and care can together help to cure the Tuberculosis decease and. It is possible to control Tuberculosis with this formula. Every par and parcel has to come forward and government with the help of people can win the fight against this serious decease Tuberculosis says District TB Officer Dr. Cahande.
