2 women caught red-handed while stealing booty in ST bus

Two con women were arrested red-handed while stealing cash and gold ornaments in a ST bus in Sitabuldi area on Tuesday.

The complainant, Mamata Chaitram Shahu (46), resident of Mayor Nagar, Arvi in Wardha District, along with husband was boarding a ST bus at Morbhavan around 2 pm on Tuesday for going to Wardha. Taking advantage of heavy rush, the two accused Soni Sowan Gufale (30) and Sunita Pratap Hatagade (45), both residents of Rameshwari, Joginagar, pilfered gold ornaments worth Rs 50,000 and cash Rs 500 kept in two cloth bags by Mamata. However, the theft came to light immediately and the two accused women were caught red-handed. They were later handed over to Ganeshpeth police.

Police constable Patil booked the two accused women under Sections 379, 34 of the IPC and arrested them.
