Two terrorists and an Army soldier were killed on Friday in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Police said troops of the 13 Rashtriya Rifles and special operations group surrounded Manzpora village at night following information about the terrorists’ presence.
“With the break of dawn, the flushing out operation was started when the hiding terrorists opened indiscriminate fire causing critical injuries to a soldier, who later succumbed,” a senior police officer said.
Two terrorists were killed in the operation, he said.
Firing exchange has stopped in the area, but a combing operation is on.
