Nagpur: Two lewd young boys, who ‘enjoyed’ dialling to Police Emergency No. 100 as a prank frequently and teased the lady operators in vulgar and indecent languages, were nabbed in a well-planned operation by Crime Branch sleuths.
The accused “eve-teasers” have been identified as Mohd Shahid alias Gufran Mohd Abdul Majid (19), resident of Sangharsh Nagar Slums, Yashodhara Nagar, and Pintu alias Pintya alias Minty Yashwant Umredkar (22) of Golibar Chowk, Tehsil. The two accused used to dial the Police Emergency No. 100 and instead of stating the kind of emergency indulged in teasing the lady operators with obscene words. Fed up with the “sexy pranks” of the two accused the lady operators had lodged their complaints with DCP Deepali Masirkar. The DCP ordered a special squad to put the callers by tracing their mobile phones. Accordingly, the Crime Branch sleuths waited for the next calls from the two accused and traced the mobile numbers. Once the numbers were known the nabbing of the accused was the next. And they were nabbed as well. The lewd pranks on the part of the accused not only pestered the lady operators but blocked the emergency number for genuine emergencies.
The accused duo was booked under Section 354(D)(2) of IPC and are now cooling their heels behind the bars.
