2 Minor girls rescued from Ganga-Jamuna, woman arrested; Minor elopes in MIDC

Lakadganj police have rescued two minor girls allegedly dragged into fresh trade at city’s Ganga-Jamuna red light area and arrested the lady involved in the crime. In another incident, MIDC police have registered a case against a youth who allegedly eloped with the minor girl.

Police sources said it received information about two minor girls allegedly dragged into flesh trade by the woman identified as Rekha Moolchand Karmavat, 40, who hails from Ramnagar, Deora in Rajasthan. She allegedly forced the girls to operate from a brothel at Ganga Jamuna. Acting on the tip-off, the cops raided the place and rescued both the girls from the woman. A case under section 344, 366 (A), 372, 373 along with sub-sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 under PETA has been registered against the lady kingpin Rekha. Further investigation is on.

In another incident under MIDC police station, a youth allegedly forced a minor girl to elope with him. The girl, a resident of MIDC, reportedly left the house on the pretext of going to his cousin’s house and did not return. Later when her parents could not find her after thorough search, they approached the police and raised suspicion on a 22 year old Vikas Netam, resident of Parsoli in Selu tehsil of Wardha district. Police have registered the case under section 363 against Netam and further investigating the matter.
