2 men cheat SBI of Rs 16 lakh in car loan deal

: Two men cheated the Civil Lines Branch of State Bank of India to the tune of Rs 16 lakh by submitting forged documents in car loan deal.

The accused Prasadkumar Suresh Katole, resident of Housing Society, Ravinagar and Rajukumar Manikrao Chinchkhede of vPlot No. 38, Hawre Layout, Khamla approached the Civil Lines Branch of SBI and applied for car loan. The bank sanctioned a loan of Rs 16 lakh to the accused. However, the accused did not purchase any car but submitted forged documents showing they had purchased the car. As the cheating came to the fore, the Branch Manager Anupkumar Anandprakash Narayan registered a case with Sadar police in this regard.

PSI Matre has booked the two accused under Sections 420, 465, 471, 468, 34 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
