19 year old girl escapes attempted kidnapping in Sadar, Nagpur

Sadar police have booked two youths on the charges of attempt to kidnap a young girl.

According to police, the complainant girl (19) was sitting in Paratha Shop on Residency Road, near Canara Bank at about 18.00-18.30 in the evening. A friend of the girl was also with her. The accused youths Vijay Harichandra Chavhan, resident of Itwari Quarters, Nagpur, and his unidentified friend appeared at the spot and forcibly entered the Paratha Shop. Both youths then caught hold of the hand of the girl and pulled her out of the Shop and threatened to kill her. The accused then forced the girl to sit on their Yamaha motorcycle. They then proceeded towards Kadbi Square. However, when the girl shouted for help, both the accused youths dropped her midway near Kadbi Chowk and fled away.

The girl immediately approached the Sadar Police Station and lodged a complaint against Vijay Harichandra Chavhan and his friend. The Sadar PSI Gedam registered an offense against the accused youths under Sections 363, 365, 506 (B) and 34 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
