Nagpur: A 17-year old girl who was delivering tiffins was abducted by a youth from Bajaj Nagar area here on Wednesday night. Since then whereabouts of the girl are not known even as cops have launched a search to trace her and the kidnapper.
According to police, the 17-year old girl, resident of Bajaj Nagar, used to deliver tiffins. Around 8 pm on Wednesday, the minor girl as usual left home for delivering tiffins. Midway, a youth named Rahul, resident of Kachipura, abducted the girl and took her to an undisclosed destination. The relatives of the girl searched her frantically but in vain.
Bajaj Nagar police constable Vinod, following the Supreme Court directives that if any minor girl or boy goes missing then the case should be treated as that of kidnapping, has booked the accused named Rahul under Section 363 of the IPC and launched a search to trace the girl.
Similarly, 16-year old girl went missing from Kalamna area around 1 pm on Wednesday and was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified person(s). The parents of the girl searched her at all possible places but to no avail.
Kalamna PSI S B Jadhav has registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC in accordance with the Supreme Court directives and searching for her.
