Nagpur: At least 17 passengers were injured in an accident involving an ST bus and travel bus near Pachgaon Bus Stop on Nagpur Umred Highway at 11.15 am on Thursday, September 22. The injured were treated at Primary Health Centre at Pachgaon and later referred to Government Hospital in Nagpur for further treatment, according to a report in a local Marathi daily.
According to the report, the Shri Taj Travels bus (MH-49/J 2390) was going towards Umred from Nagpur and the ST bus (MH-40/N 9008) was going ahead of the travel bus. Near Pachgaon Bus Stop on Nagpur-Umred Highway, the driver of the speeding travel bus, which was following the ST bus, lost control and hit the ST bus from behind. As a result, the travel bus driver lost control and the bus went ploughed into a field on the side of the road.
At least 17 passengers in the ST bus and travel bus were injured in this accident. After being informed, a team of Pachgaon police reached the spot and moved the injured passengers to Primary Health Centre Pachgaon. Later they were shifted to Government Hospital in Nagpur for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the exact cause of the accident is being ascertained.
