Nagpur News : Mohammad Raeez Jameel Ansari alias Kalu, 14, a resident of Dhammadeep Nagar, drowned in a pond formed on Kalamna Ring Road on Monday afternoon. Raeez had gone with his four friends to catch fish from the pond. Residents informed that the boys were warned twice but they did not budge and met with the untoward incidence.
Police said that boys were not able to catch fish and thus Raeez, who knew swimming, jumped into the pond. Suddenly, he got stuck in the quicksand and drowned. On being alerted by friends, residents rushed and fished out Raeez. He was declared brought dead at Mayo Hospital. Nearby residents protested to covered the small pond as it may claim another life.
