Nagpur: A 13-year-old girl took her own life in Samta Nagar area under Kapil Nagar police station.
According to police, Khushbu alias Khushi Surjeetsingh Sarad, a resident of Samta Nagar, near Vita Bhatti, hanged herself from a ceiling pipe with a scarf on Saturday afternoon. She was a student of Class VIII. Her parents work as daily wage workers. She has a seven-year-old brother Lakshya.
On Saturday afternoon, Lakshya was in the kitchen when she took the extreme step. Lakshya was first to see the dangling body of Khushi and alerted neighbours. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her dead.
The reason behind her taking the extreme step could not be ascertained so far. A case of accidental death was registered by the police. Further investigations are underway
