Nagpur: Ten police personnel of city were honoured by Commissioner of Police S P Yadav for their excellent performance in crime detection and investigation. The 10 cops were given certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contribution.
Former ACP P P Dharamshree, API RJ Patil and Head Constable Ramkrishna Bade were honoured for painstaking investigation into Crime No 381/13 registered under Section394, 413, 201 and34 of the IPC read with Section 3(1) of MCOCA at Gittikhadan Police Station, resulting in conviction of five dreaded criminals and 10-year imprisonment.
Similarly, PI R T Bahadure, API Ghode, Constables RoshanTiwari and Abhay Sakhre attached to Pachpaoli Police Station had nabbed eight criminals wanted in connection with a case registered under Sections 436 and 34 of the IPC. The arrests were made after procuring CCTV footages. The nabbing of eight goons had also led to detection of four more cases, besides recovering valuables worth Rs 2.08 lakh from them.
API Kiran Chaugule, Constables SachinTumsare and Suraj Bhongade attached to Hudkeshwar Police Station had arrested three members of a gang involved in a series of house-breakings. The cops cracked as many as 17 cases and recovered stolen cash and valuables collectively worth Rs 28.62 lakh. These policemen were honoured during a joint meeting to review overall crime in Nagpur city from January 1 till June26. City Police Chief Yadav called upon all police officers to investigate each and every case properly to ensure that the criminals were nabbed and convicted as well.
