Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had made a provision of ₹2 crore in its budget for the organisation of the Marbat Festival 2026. Now, questions have been raised over how much of the allocated amount was actually spent and where the money was utilised.
NMC Opposition Leader Sanjay Mahakalkar has submitted a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of the Sports Department, seeking complete details of the expenditure incurred during the festival.
Mahakalkar has sought information on the various works undertaken, the amount spent on each work and the procedure followed for making the expenditure.

Speaking to Nagpur Today, Mahakalkar said he has demanded that the concerned department provide the complete expenditure details within three days.
The ruling party and NMC administration have not yet issued their response on the matter. Their version will be important to clarify the actual expenditure against the ₹2-crore budgetary provision.
