Nagpur:
Sensation prevailed in Pawanshakti Nagar in Wathoda on Monday when a dead body of a 26 year old man was recovered from the well. Nandanvan police who reached the spot had to call fire brigade to fish out the body. The deceased identified as Lokesh Vijay Sathwane has been reportedly murdered by contract killers at the behest of a 50 year old woman identified as Jaya. Police traced the badly decomposed body of Lokesh after rounding off a suspect who confessed to have committed the crime as he was paid Rs 50000 for the crime.

Lokesh, an auto driver, used to reside at Pawanshakti Nagar along with his mother and brother.

Police sources said Lokesh had been missing since April 9 when he left the house saying that he would return in some time. However when he did not turn up even the next day, his relatives lodged the missing complaint at Nandanvan police station.

Meanwhile police learnt that Lokesh had the fight with Jaya who had warned him of dire consequences. Jaya was interrogated at police station where she claimed to have given the threat in anger. However Jaya sounded suspicious in her statement. In yet another lead police got the information that a person named Gopal Bisen alias Premchand had killed Lokesh. Police then took Gopal under custody and interrogated him in which he tried to dodge the cops at first but later he confessed the crime when police inquired strictly.

Gopal reportedly told the police that he along with his friend Prafulla had made Lokesh to drink with them and then both of them strangulated him to death. The duo later threw Lokesh’s body into the well.

Upon the information police reached spot and recovered Lokesh’s body. The area was filled with stink as the fire tender fished out the body from the well.

Gopal has reportedly confessed to have received Rs 50000 from Jaya in order to kill Lokesh.

It turned out that Lokesh was also involved in a murder that took place in 2013. Meanwhile crime branch team has also reached the spot along with senior police officers of Nandanvan police station.
