Nagpur: In yet another hit-and-run case, a motorcyclist was killed on the spot by an unidentified vehicle in Gittikhadan area here on Tuesday night. The driver along with his vehicle fled the spot fearing backlash by angry people.
A resident of Plot No. 112, Vrundavan Colony, Katol Road, Rajesh Gopalprasad Tiwari (34) was returning home from Wadi on his motorcycle around 8 pm on Tuesday. As Rajesh neared Sandipani School on Dabha Ring Road, the recklessly driven vehicle rammed his motorcycle with forceful impact. As a result, Rajesh suffered critical injuries. Passersby rushed him to Mayo Hospital but the doctors pronounced him brought dead. The unidentified driver along with his vehicle fled the spot after the accident fearing angry backlash from people.
Gittikhadan API K T Kamble, acting on a complaint of Rajiv Gopalprasad Tiwari (31), has booked the unidentified driver under Sections 279, 337, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 137, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching him.
