Institute of Science students, teachers witness working of Cyber Crime Cell

Around 45 students and teachers of Institute of Science, Civil Lines, on Tuesday visited Cyber Crime Cell of Nagpur Police and had a feel of its working. The students were accompanied by Harindrakumar Bambhurde, HoD, Associate Professor Sharad Hegde, Arjun Mane, and Shrikant Korke. The students and teachers apprised themselves about the working of police in general and Cyber Crime Cell in particular.

The personnel of Cyber Crime Cell informed the students about the preventive measures to be taken while using social media as well as how police investigate cyber crimes. They were also apprised of the working of the newly formed “Bharosa Cell” and newer ventures undertaken by Nagpur police force.

The inquisitive students posed some questions as how to detect fake email, fake Facebook account and how the a lost mobile phone is searched. The Cyber Crime Cell, while answering the pointed questions, showed demonstrations on the working. In the end, the students and teachers of Institute of Science thanked the Cyber Crime Cell for arranging their visit to the sophisticated laboratory, a press release issued by ACP Cyber Crime Cell said.
