Nagpur: Every year, Christmas is celebrated on December 25 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. This auspicious occasion is a prime festival of Christian community and hence, is celebrated zestfully around the world.
Christmas Trees are one of the main attractions for children. This is because gifts are kept under the tree for them. All Saints’ Cathedral like other Churches decorated their Christmas Tree elegantly to celebrate the festival with great zeal for the Sunday School Children. This is done 8-10 days ahead of Christmas so that all the children could come together, perform the skits, sing, dance and later receive gifts from Santa Claus before they all go for vacations.
Christmas Tree programme was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm by the Sunday School Children. The
Presbyter-In-Charge of All Saints’ Cathedral Reverend Satish Nanda led the children in the opening prayer. The Esther Samuel read out the Gospel from the Bible. This was followed by the group songs by the small children, the enactment of the Birth of Christ in a manger, group dance and other programmes. This time however, Santa Claus distributing gifts to the children was replaced by Presbyter-In-Charge of All Saints’ Cathedral Reverend Satish Nanda giving away the gifts to the children.
Director of National Council of Churches in India Reverend Roger Gaikwad, Ordinand of All Saints’ Cathedral Amin and Reverend Anand Michael, Secretary of Pastorate Committee of All Saints’ Cathedral, parents and members of the All Saints’ Cathedral were prominently present.
