
The accused has been identified as Raju Mahadeo Wanjari, resident of opposite Ambika Beer Bar, Nandanvan area. According to police, the deceased Arvind Parate of Queta Colony had got married with Alka Wanjari, sister of accused Raju. However, since the past few days, the relations between Arvind and Alka had turned sour over some domestic matter. As a result, Alka was staying with her parents. However, on Sunday morning around 8.30, Arvind came to his in-laws’ house and tried to forcibly take Alka along with him. This act of Arvind infuriated the accused Raju and a heated exchange of words erupted between them. The wordy duel took a bloody turn when Raju, in a fit of anger, attacked Arvind with a heavy stone, brick and a piece of tile and inflicted grave injuries on his head and other parts of body. The profusely bleeding Arvind collapsed and died on the spot. Upon informed about the bloody incident, Rupchand Parate, father of deceased Arvind, straightaway approached Nandanvan police and registered a case in this regard.
Nandanvan API Kokode, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Raju Wanjari under Section 302 of the IPC and succeeded in arresting him. However, it is learnt, the murder accused was admitted in a hospital after his blood pressure shot up.
