Nagpur : A 28-year-old youth has been booked by Ambazari police for allegedly trying to outrage the modesty of a 12-year-old girl and later threatening to burn her house. Police have identified the accused as Amit Balaji Thosar alias Gamya (28).

Police said, the 12-year-old girl was alone in her house in Amabazari area on Sunday at around 3 pm. The accused Amit forcefully barged into her house and tried to outrage the modesty of the girl. The victim started screaming for help after which the accused left. However, before leaving, Amit threatened to set the girl’s house afire if she did not come with him. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the girl, Ambazari police have registered an offence under the Sections 452 and 504 of the IPC read with sub sections 7, 8, and 18 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and booked the accused.
