    Youth arrested for attacking couple, damaging public property

    Nagpur News : Nandanvan police arrested a drunkard for damaging public property and put up a brawl with the couple engaged in distribution of voters list for the Lok Sabha elections. Cops said, the incidence took place on Thursday around 5 pm in front of Kamal Decorations, K D K College Road, Nandanvan slums.

    According to information, Vandana and her husband Rajesh Bhure were engaged in distribution of voters list and extending help to voters to locate their names in the list for the on-going Lok Sabha elections on Thursday. However, a drunkard Bhurya alias Rakesh Ramesh Wankhede (25), a resident of Nandanvan slums approached Vandana and scolded her for not contesting the elections even after getting a ticket. Rajesh intervened and asked youth to mind his business.
    Enraged over this intervention, the youth picked up a stone from road side and threw it on Rajesh who fortunately dodged it. However, Bhurya began damaging the chairs and tables kept at the site.
    Nandanvan police reached the spot and immediately detained the drunkard youth under Sections 336, 427, 504, and 506 (b) of the IPC.
