Young transporter Kunal Gujjar dies in tragic road mishap

In a tragic incident, a young transporter who runs Swaraj Mazda transport vehicles was killed in a road mishap on May 7, 2015. The deceased is identified as Kunal Dhirulal Gujjar aged 29 years and a resident of Chandan Nagar, Near Medical Square Nagpur. The deceased Kunal along with his brother and two others had gone to Arvi to transport some goods from Nagpur.

Late in the night at around 12 midnight they started from Arvi to return to Nagpur. Kunal’s brother and two others had allegedly told Kunal that they should take a break and stay back in Arvi for the night and that they can return the next morning. However, Kunal told them that they can rest at their own homes when they reach Nagpur and urged them to return with him. So the quartet started back to Nagpur on the Swaraj Mazda vehicle bearing RTO registration No MH-40/ AK 0488.

When they reached near Kondhali, there were many trucks that were overtaking their vehicle simultaneously. This caused the driver to lose his control and the vehicle climbed the road-divider and a rod that is placed on the road divider with radium painted signs broke into the vehicle after passing the engine and pierced the stomach of Kunal who was sitting in the middle.

The driver and the three others escaped unscathed in the mishap. Somehow the driver managed to extricate the vehicle and Kunal and took him to Kondhali Police Station. There the police officials displayed insensitivity and instead of rushing the victim to the hospital, spent nearly 3 hours in completing the paper formalities. After that the victim was brought to Dande Hospital in Ravi Nagar Square. Since this was a serious case, the doctors advised the trio to take the victim to Government Medical College and Hospital. The trio rushed the victim in a private vehicle and in the course of treatment, the doctors declared Kunal dead.

Since the deceased Kunal, was a very socially active and of a very helpful nature, many friends and relatives rushed to GMCH on receiving the news of his death. One could see many moved to tears. He leaves behind a large number of friends and relatives to mourn his loss.
