A 20-year-old girl was molested by a road-side Romeo on August 10, 2015. Sources claimed that almost every day, the accused identified as Prafulla Meshram used to follow the 20-year-old girl a resident of MIDC area enroute to her College. He used to attempt to speak to her on one pretext or the other. However, the girl never encouraged him and ignored all his advances. On August 10, 2015, at around 11:45 am, the accused stopped her vehicle and caught her hand and proposed to marry her. When she refused to marry him or accept his proposal, the accused threatened to throw acid on her face and break her hands and legs.
The accused then followed her right till her house. The accused displaying daring abused her parents with vulgar abusive words and threatened to kill them.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim girl, Police Sub Inspector Patankar of MIDC Police Station registered a case under sections 354 (A) (D), 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code and have initiated an investigation in the matter.
In the second incident which occurred in Sakardhara area, the 28-year-old victim was alone in her home on August 10, 2015. Realising that the victim is alone in her house, the accused identified as Amit Krishnadas Ratnani aged 30 years and a resident of Jaripatka entered her house between 9 pm to 9:30 pm and attempted to molest her.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, Police Sub Inspector Yelkewar of Sakardhara Police Station registered a case under sections 354 (B) of Indian Penal Code and have initiated an investigation in the matter.
