Nagpur: A trainee female doctor at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital, popularly known as Mayo hospital has narrowly escaped an attack on her while she was on duty. The trainee doctor Delna Joseph Saju Joseph, 22, reportedly knows the attacker, however his relationship with her could not ascertained. Tehsil police have arrested the accused identified as Shankarrao Dhole.
Police sources said Delna resides in girls hostel in the hospital premises. She was reportedly on duty in ward no. 2 around 8.30 pm on Friday when Dhole appeared and entered into a heated argument with the doctor. Later he tried to attack her but she somehow managed to escape.
Upon Delna’s complaint the cops haver arrested Dhole under section 353 IPC. Further investigations are on.
