Nagpur News: The students appearing for Supplementary Mass Communication examination, conducted by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University  (YCMOU), which began on Thursday, were put in a terrible dilemma and outraged too as they could not receive the I Card for the examination even till the day. The students were left high and dry by the Centre authorities even after the Divisional Office of YCMOU permitted them to appear for the exam. But the Centre authorities unnecessarily held a “question-answer” session instead of allowing the students to go through the exam thus leaving them red-faced.

According to reports, at least 20 students were deprived of the I Cards till the examination day. The Centre authorities inquired with the Divisional Office of YCMOU about the I Cards to the students. The YCMOU allowed the students to appear for the exam through PRN Number. But the exam Centres asked the students to show I Cards and allowed those students only who had I cards. The students with no I Cards were denied entry despite the students producing written letters of Lecturers to the effect. But the Centre authorities put the students to go through questions, answers, asked to show bank challans, ID proofs, election cards etc. The Divisional Office had not told the students to carry all these cards and other papers.

In Nagpur, the Centres for the examination were CP and Berar and Panjabrao Deshmukh Institute of Management and Research. Today was the first day of the exam which started at 10.30 am and concluded at 1.30 pm. The YCMOU’s Mass Communication course consists of six subjects.
