Workshop on Free Trade Agreements under Niryat Bandhu Scheme on December 12 organised by DGFT

Nagpur: The office of Joint Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India is organizing a workshop on Free Trade Agreement (FTA) under the Niryat Bandhu Scheme on 12th December, 2017 ( Tuesday) at Conference Hall, Hotel Heritage, near VCA Ground Complex, Civil Lines , Nagpur during 2 PM to 5 PM. A. Bipin Menon, Indian Trade Service (ITS),Director, Department Of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry will be prominently present on this occasion.

The objective of the workshop is to make the business community aware about FTAs and discuss problems being encountered by the exporting community of the region with regard to various Free Trade Agreements & MoU’s signed by the Government of India. Various aspects of Free Trade Agreements will be covered in detail by A. Bipin Menon. Terms like Rule of Origin,CECA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement )/CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement), MFN (Most Favour Nation) Tariff, anti-dumping and safeguard measures will be explained by him.

Anupam Kumar, ITS, Assistant Director General of DGFT, Nagpur will elucidate the trade jargons like Sanitary and Phyto sanitary(SPS) Measures and Technical Barriers to Trade(TBT) and will explain the difficulties being faced by Indian exporters in the international market. Through this workshop, Business Community of the Vidarbha Region will get a clear idea about Import Opportunities, Export Opportunities, Business Growth by entering these markets, Joint Venture Opportunities, Market access in these countries, Creating Brands with partners in these countries.

The workshop will include Presentations on the major FTAs (ASEAN, Korea and Japan) & Presentation on other FTA negotiations, Experience sharing in the FTA market (including utilization), Information dissemination on the “FAQs on FTAs” and the trade portal.
