Nagpur: As per the notification received from RTMNU, Nagpur Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of G H Raisoni Academy of Engineering and Technology, Nagpur conducted workshop on the topic ‘Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act 2013’. The speaker on the occasion was Adv. Aarti Kalnawat, Officiating Principal at G H Raisoni Law School. The dignitaries present on the dais along with the speaker were Dr. Satish Vaishnav, Principal, GHRAET and Dr. Pankaj Agrawal, Vice Principal, GHRAET.
Discussing the Act 2013 in detail Adv. Kalnavat explained what sexual Harassment is, who can lodge complaint and where, etc. She discussed that 3Ms- Masculinity, Mobility and money are responsible for the decline in the status of women. She emphasized that this situation can be changed if the victim adopt zero tolerance attitude.
All the HODs, faculties and non-teaching staff along with students participated in the workshop. The
audio visual shown to the students was very effective. The program was coordinated by Prof.Lalita Bisen. Nidhi Newalkar (1st year student) hoisted the event.
