Turning heat on former Home Minister of Maharashtra R R Patil for his shocking and defamatory statements against womenfolk, the State BJP President Devendra Fadnavis asked people, particularly the women electorate, to teach him a lesson by boycotting the badmouth leader in the October 15 Assembly election. “Patil’s party the NCP should also clarify their position on this issue,” asked Fadanvis while addressing public meetings in different constituencies of Nagpur district.
R. R. Patil, while addressing a meeting in Tasgaon, had said that rape is fine, but it can be done after elections. “This is very serious statement and that too by a former Home Minister is beyond imagination of any sane person. Such nasty statement is shame on State,” said an angry Devendra Fadnavis while reacting on R.R. Patil’s statement. “Earlier also, Patil had made a statement that even a policeman at every house will not be able to stop rape in Maharashtra,” added Fadnavis

Fadnavis addressed election meetings in Hingna, Sirsi in Umrer and three rallies in Nagpur — South, North and West constituencies. He said it is very unfortunate that former Home Minister is speaking so arrogantly and awfully. “Maharashtra has lower conviction rate in the rape cases. In only 14 cases out of 100, culprits are convicted. In this worst ever law and order situation, such statements by a former Home Minister are highly condemnable,” said Fadnavis and appealed the people to end the 15-year misrule on October 15.
“Maharashtra has witnessed farmers’ suicides more than the soldiers died while fighting on borders. We will probe the entire irrigation scam and book the culprits”, he reiterated. Bollywood star Chunki Pande was present on the dais in the Hingna meeting. Former MP Datta Meghe was also present.
