Nagpur: Women police personnel posted at Railway Police Station at Nagpur find themselves in “pressing” dilemma. The police station has no independent toilet and changing room as well. And to ease themselves from the dilemma and respond to the nature’s call, the women cops have to rush to the common toilet. The situation can well be guessed.
According to the directives of State Director General of Police (DGP), an independent toilet and changing room for women personnel is must at every police station. But the picture at Railway Police Station is different! There is toilet but it is common for men and women personnel. Similarly, for changing their uniforms or clothes or resting, there is lack of a separate room. A rain drenched woman cop finds herself in embarrassing situation. An independent toilet and changing room is on papers only.
According to sources, the Railway Police Station has a separate room for keeping seized goods and valuables. A vacant room was allotted to women cops but that room is also being used for keeping the seized goods. This move rendered the women cops without an independent room for resting or changing. But on papers, this room has been marked as changing room for women police personnel.
